Johnathan Towes starts out the game scoring the first goal but then a few minutes later the Red Wings respond with Brian Rafalski ripping a shot from nearly the blue line and ended up scoring Red Wings first goal. Assisted by Lidstrom and Datsyuk to tie the game 1-1. Dan Cleary with a unassisted goal! Another break away but this time he scored putting it through pads making it look easy with his third goal in this series against Chicago. 2-1

Overtime
Mikael Samuelson scores the game winning goal with 14:47 left in the first and only overtime. 3 on 1 Samuelson started it by stealing the puck in the Blachawks zone getting it to Yiri Hudler who breaks towards Nikolai Khabibulin along side Valteri Filppula and Samuelson trailing right behind. Once inside the Blackhawks defensive zone the three Red Wings formed a triangle against the one opposing teammate and the goalie. Filppula recieved the pass and in turn passed back to the goal scorer Mikael Samuelson. Beating Nikolai Khabibulin who had little chance trying to get back from Hudlers pass.

Jiri Hudler the only player on the Red Wings to make it to all 82 games! Talk about dedication to your team. He really enjoys himself out there and recently he has had plenty of reason to. With 23 goals,34 assists,57 points 7 +/-,PIM 16 and TOI 13:38 this year.
At 5'9" and 178lbs Jiri Hudler plays right along with the big guys and at times being called "Happy Hudler" (I assume because he smiles alot).
A true team player Jiri Hudler is no doubt out there to back his team and of course ultimately, to win the Stanely Cup.
If you like Pavel Datsyuk he was looking amazing as usual! He finaly found the back of the net at the very end of the second period then. Then he perfectly passed it to Johan Franzen tying the game 2-2. Later Henrick Zetterburg scores a similar goal, just like Datsyuk he rifled a shot beating Martin Biron just over his right shoulder. Another great shot!

Pavels 5th season in a row with over 20 goals. Still looking good making very few mistakes. Even when he does he ends up usually stealing the puck back.
Roloson with a cheap shot hitting Cleary in the family jewels! I think he deserved to be kicked out of the game for that. If Avery can get in trouble for saying a few measly words than Roloson should of gotten some sort of punishment rather than a little penalty.
Unfortunately I only saw the first period but I think the Wings pretty much were going to win the game.

I finally got time to see the rest of this game and what a spectacular game it was. 8-3 Rafalski,Lebda,Cleary,Datsyuk,Hossa,Sameulson,Leino and Hudler scored a goal!

I'm not sure I agree with Nicklas Lidstrom and Pavel Datsyuk having to take the day off just because they missed the All Star game. I for one didn't even watch the All Star game? I did not know however that it was punishable to players that didn't show up to the All Star game?
Watching the game last night was sort of boring and to the people around me last night were saying the same thing. Without Pavel Datsyuk the game was not as exciting for me to watch. He's made me a little spoiled I guess.
Apparently Rick Nash was on his game though last night. Scoring all 3 goals to win it and to add another hat-trick to his career making it 3 hat-tricks in all.
There is no doubt that if Datsyuk and Lidstrom were playing the game would have been very different.
I have to give it up to Marian Hossa for player of the game, an outstanding performance last night. Scored 1 goal and nearly 3 more. Brett Lebda with one goal also good to see. An overtime loss but we can't win all the time.
The Red Wings come back from behind again to tie it up on the power play with less than a minute left in the 3rd. Franzen scored twice along with Zetterburg & Hudler with a nice moves in the shoot out to beat the Phoenix Coyotes! Very exciting game...

I was a little heated two games ago but I could not help myself. I of course, a Wings fan for too long...
So the last two games when Datsyuk played miraculously, I just cannot keep my mouth shut?
Only two days ago the Wings played the Blackhawks but Datsyuk got robbed from a goal.
Or so I thought?
As Datsyuk scored, the ref blew the whistle. As if he knew Datsyuk may score.
Where the problem lies, is why did the ref blow the whistle?
So the Wings end up losing in a shoot out. (Pavel did hit the post on his try)

I have to admit Zetterburg looks really good. But I can't help to think Datsyuk has a lot to do with that. That could go either way though? People could argue maybe Datsyuk wouldn't be where he's at if it weren't for Zetterburg. Anyways there's a game tonight and tomorrow. If they win tonight, that would make it 14 home games won in a row. A new record for them.
The assist he made to Cleary was cool, after Cleary missed an easy open netter. Datsyuk could have easily got the goal, but instead gave it away. Always a true team player. Thats why I like him.
I was impressed by the moves that Datsyuk made. Making it around other professionals like he did. And Zetterberg worked with Datsyuk. Even though they've got a friendly bet between each other, they still are trying to win. By passing it to each other and making things happen is another thing. How many points each of them could get, is an on going friendly bet.
